It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sophie Galeras, founder and creative soul of AMBAS.

For Sophie, every collection began with a feeling: a shade of colour, the touch of a fabric, the graceful movement of a garment. Her remarkable eye and unique sensibility shaped the identity of AMBAS, bringing together effortless elegance, a love of colour and a distinctive sense of freedom.

Beyond her creations, Sophie cherished the relationships she built over the years, bringing together clients, artisans and friends from around the world. These personal connections were as much a part of AMBAS as the collections themselves.

Sophie will be deeply missed, but her creative spirit lives on through the dedication of the team and production partners who worked alongside her for so many years.

AMBAS will continue its activities, honouring the vision and values that Sophie brought to life.

A memorial Mass in honour of Sophie will be held on Saturday, 7 November 2026, at 4:00 pm, at the Church of San Salvatore in Lauro, Piazza San Salvatore in Lauro, Rome. All those who wish to join us in remembering Sophie are warmly welcome.
