It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sophie Galeras, founder and creative soul of AMBAS.

For Sophie, every collection began with a feeling: a shade of colour, the touch of a fabric, the graceful movement of a garment. Her remarkable eye and unique sensibility shaped the identity of AMBAS, bringing together effortless elegance, a love of colour and a distinctive sense of freedom.

Beyond her creations, Sophie cherished the relationships she built over the years, bringing together clients, artisans and friends from around the world. These personal connections were as much a part of AMBAS as the collections themselves.

Sophie will be deeply missed, but her creative spirit lives on through the SS27 collection and the dedication of the team and production partners who worked alongside her for so many years.

AMBAS will continue its activities, honouring the vision and values that Sophie brought to life. The SS27 collection remains in production, and all confirmed orders will proceed as planned.

A memorial Mass in honour of Sophie will be held on Saturday, 7 November 2026, at 4:00 pm, at the Church of San Salvatore in Lauro, Piazza San Salvatore in Lauro, Rome. All those who wish to join us in remembering Sophie are warmly welcome.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the affection, kindness and support shown to Sophie, her family and everyone at AMBAS.

Au-delà de ses créations, Sophie accordait une importance toute particulière aux liens qu’elle avait tissés au fil des années avec ses clients, ses artisans et ses amis aux quatre coins du monde. Ces relations humaines faisaient partie intégrante de l’univers d’AMBAS.

Sophie nous manquera profondément, mais son esprit créatif demeure vivant à travers la collection printemps-été 2027 et l’engagement de l’équipe et des partenaires de production qui l’ont accompagnée pendant tant d’années.

AMBAS poursuivra ses activités, fidèle à la vision et aux valeurs que Sophie lui a insufflées. La collection printemps-été 2027 est actuellement en production et toutes les commandes confirmées seront honorées comme prévu.

Une messe en mémoire de Sophie sera célébrée le samedi 7 novembre 2026 à 16 heures, en l’église San Salvatore in Lauro, Piazza San Salvatore in Lauro, à Rome. Tous ceux qui souhaitent se joindre à nous pour lui rendre hommage seront les bienvenus.

Per Sophie, ogni collezione nasceva da un’emozione: una sfumatura di colore, la morbidezza di un tessuto, il movimento armonioso di un abito. Il suo sguardo particolare e la sua sensibilità hanno dato vita all’identità di AMBAS, fatta di un’eleganza naturale, dell’amore per il colore e di un profondo senso di libertà.

Al di là delle sue creazioni, Sophie attribuiva un valore speciale ai rapporti umani che aveva saputo costruire negli anni, con clienti, artigiani e amici provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. Questi legami erano parte integrante dell’universo di AMBAS.

Sophie ci mancherà profondamente, ma il suo spirito creativo continuerà a vivere attraverso la collezione primavera-estate 2027 e l’impegno della squadra e dei collaboratori che l’hanno accompagnata per tanti anni.

AMBAS proseguirà la propria attività, nel rispetto della visione e dei valori che Sophie ha saputo trasmettere. La collezione primavera-estate 2027 è attualmente in produzione e tutti gli ordini confermati saranno regolarmente evasi secondo quanto previsto.

Una Santa Messa in ricordo di Sophie sarà celebrata sabato 7 novembre 2026, alle ore 16:00, presso la Chiesa di San Salvatore in Lauro, in Piazza San Salvatore in Lauro, a Roma. Tutti coloro che desiderano unirsi a noi per ricordarla saranno i benvenuti.
